The idea of publicising the Prophet of Islam to the world through the internet, which is the most effective communication medium of the era, is a religious, moral and social responsibility for the Muslims. The cartoon crisis caused a rightful protest in the Islamic World, which became violent from time to time. The web portal, www.sonpeygamber.info, which started broadcasting in 2007 in Turkish, English and Russian, with the motto “Islam without Prejudice”, has been leading people who want to know / understand the Prophet of Islam from all over the world for more than a decade with a comprehensive children’s site and newly added languages. Supported by The Association’s two missions which shape the main fields of operations and overlap with each other over time, The Association organises debate related training and activities. Debate has a strong place in the Islamic tradition. It also organises a script writing workshop in the field of cinema, the most effective medium of the visual era, and other short film events. Aiming to leave a heritage based on strong foundations of knowledge, belief and aesthetics to the future generations, The Meridian Association continues to work as a non-governmental organisation, in which especially young people can actively participate and take responsibility.
